Virgo Rhythm Synthesizer

Overview

Virgo is a professional browser-based rhythm synthesizer featuring 12 tracks, independent synthesis engines, MIDI control, and global LFO.

Quick Start

1. Choose Preset: Select Dark/Pop/Warm/Extreme
2. Create Pattern: Click grid (Left: ON/OFF, Right: Accent)
3. Play: Click ▶ Play button
4. Sound Design: Use synth panel on the right

Transport

• Tempo: 40-240 BPM
• Steps: 12/16/24/32 (16=1 bar)
• Swing: 50-75% (groove adjustment)
• Speed: ×1/×2/×4 (tempo multiplier)
• Reverb/Delay Time: Effect timing
• LFO Rate/Wave: Global LFO settings

• BD A/B (Bass Drums)
• SD A/B (Snare Drums)
• HH A/B (Hi-Hats)
• RIDE/CRASH (Cymbals)
• TOM/PC A/B/C/D (Toms/Percussion)

Operations

• Left Click: Toggle note ON/OFF
• Right Click: Toggle accent (1.5x volume)
• Pattern Save: 16 patterns with Copy/Paste

Synthesizer

Oscillator 1/2

• Waveform: Sine/Square/Saw/Triangle
• Frequency + LO/HI:
  • LO: 20-600Hz (for kick, snare)
  • HI: 500-2000Hz (for hi-hat, cymbal)

Ring Modulator

Multiplies Osc1×Osc2 for metallic tones (perfect for hi-hats/cymbals)

Noise Generator

White/Pink/Brown noise (for snares, hi-hats)

Filter

Lowpass/Highpass/Bandpass, 20-20000Hz, Resonance control

Envelopes

• Amp Envelope: Attack/Decay/Sustain/Release + LFO Amount
• Filter Envelope: Amount/Attack/Decay + LFO Amount
• Pitch Envelope: Amount/Attack/Decay

Mix & Effects

• Volume/Pan: Level and stereo position
• Reverb/Delay Send: Effect send amounts

Sound Design Tips

Kick Drum

• Osc1/2 to LO, 40-80Hz (Sine wave)
• Pitch Envelope Amount: 0.8-1.2
• Amp Decay: 0.3-0.5 sec
• Add small amount of noise for attack

Snare Drum

• Osc1/2 to LO, 150-250Hz (Triangle wave)
• White Noise: 0.5-0.7
• Bandpass Filter: 2000-3000Hz

Hi-Hat

• Osc1/2 to HI, 400-600Hz (Square wave)
• Ring Modulator ON
• White Noise: 0.7-0.9
• Highpass Filter: 7000Hz+

LFO Usage

• Hi-Hat: Filter LFO 0.3-0.5, Rate 4-8Hz (shimmer)
• Snare: Amp LFO 0.2-0.4, Rate 2-6Hz (tremolo)
• Cymbal: Filter+Amp 0.3-0.5, Rate 0.5-2Hz (movement)

• Dark: Deep & heavy (hip-hop, lo-fi)
• Pop: Bright & clear (EDM, dance)
• Warm: Analog warmth (soul, funk)
• Extreme: Metallic & aggressive (techno, industrial)

Troubleshooting

MIDI Not Connecting

• Use Chrome/Edge browser
• Access via HTTPS (https://)
• Reload page

No Sound

• Check Oscillator Enable
• Check Volume is not 0
• Check browser volume
